About the Role

Our company's big idea? Make fresh food available 24/7 through automated digital fridges located conveniently throughout Chicago and soon other cities, so everyone can eat better. Our belief is that good-for-you food should be really great tasting & really easy to get. And it’s no more complicated than that.

See our concept in action here:

Farmer's Fridge is a post-Series B food-tech startup based in Chicago’s West Side.

About our technology:

We are building a state-of-the-art culinary, logistic and technology operation to make fresh food affordable and truly accessible to everyone, and to help our customers reach their healthy eating goals.  Learn more about our technology here:

Our tech platform aims to streamline the user experience across 3 touch points: web, mobile and Fridge touchscreen. The Fridges are built upon a proprietary IoT device that controls the Fridge and allows for a near real-time interface with any digital platform, including: web, mobile, email and social networks. This enables us to delight a customer through their unique journey: from a personalized message received via email or push notification to a purchase made at the Fridge, and communicate in real-time during this journey.

The platform is designed for scale. The software is primarily written as stateless Lambda functions, data is stored in NoSQL database, frequently accessed data is in the fast ElastiCache, and everything is on the AWS cloud.
